Security of Client Funds
Is your money safe?
We ensure the security of client funds by holding them in segregated accounts with major banks, adhering to the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) client money regulations.
Segregated Client Money
Funds transferred from clients to One Financial Markets are deposited directly into distinct client money bank accounts. These client funds are kept entirely separate from our operational capital and are held in trust, with clients designated as beneficiaries. We strictly avoid commingling client funds with our own. Consequently, in the event of default by One Financial Markets, client funds would be returned to clients and would not be considered a recoverable asset by general creditors of the company.
Hedging arrangements
We do not utilize client money for our own financing or hedging activities, nor do we transfer client funds to third parties.
Financial Services Compensation Scheme
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) serves as the UK's ultimate compensation mechanism for customers of authorized financial services firms. Should One Financial Markets become insolvent or cease operations, clients may be eligible for compensation if we are unable to fulfill our obligations. As we fall under the 'investments' claim category, clients could be entitled to receive up to £85,000. Detailed information regarding compensation arrangements is available from the FSCS.
Systems and Controls
Our client money procedures and compliance with FCA Client Money rules undergo frequent review and monitoring. These processes are also subject to annual audits by independent statutory auditors, with reports provided to the FCA. Furthermore, we are required to submit a monthly Client Money and Assets Return to the FCA.
Financial Resources
One Financial Markets maintains a robust capital position, consistently operating with reserves that exceed the minimum Financial Resources Requirement stipulated by the FCA. For additional details on the firm's capital status, please refer to our Pillar 3 Disclosures.
